The Menalon Trail is one of the most rewarding hiking experiences in the Peloponnese, a long-distance mountain route crossing the heart of Gortynia and linking traditional villages, fir forests, gorges, stone bridges, and historic monasteries. It was the first trail in Greece to receive the Leading Quality Trail – Best of Europe certification, offering a rare blend of nature, culture, and authentic mountain hospitality
With a total length of about 75 km, the trail passes through Stemnitsa, Dimitsana, Zygovisti, Elati, Vytina, Nymphasia, Magouliana, Valtesiniko, and Lagkadia. Its overall level is moderate, with some more demanding parts, and it is usually completed in 5 to 8 days depending on pace and overnight stops
